Home to a doctor and her family, this property on Lynnbank Road was in desperate need of a quiet space where mum could study as she returned to university.

huisdesign ltd met the brief by creating a timber-clad rear extension using existing garage space previously used for storage. The study has purposely been kept as a flexible area which can double up as a den when the family's children are older, thereby creating two spaces in one.

Going beyond the initial request, we also saw an opportunity to capitalize on existing space and create a much-needed utility room as part of the alterations. This area is separate from the rear kitchen and family room, and will transform kitchen space as well as creating a calmer family environment.
